This is easy and hard to answer. At the surface we'd say it is all about the money but there is a need in men being unmet so the draw is actually from men. The porn industry is not actually meeting the need of men but they do profit from it. Only women can meet this for the men they love. The hard part is to get men's attention on following so they can get their needs met.

i [I] think porn is destructive...even if that person has no lover. Femdom is ok for anyone into it, and pro D [d]ommes benefit from doing things to others that excites T [t]hem and getting paid to do it. - edited by staff (female, she, her and wife and not capitalized except at the beginning of a sentence, i for men is not lower case)

Porn can be an addictive thing and in those cases, it will interfere with or take the place of what could otherwise be a rewarding and fulfilling relationship. I have placed its access in the hands of my wife and for now she has decided to lock it out completely. This should allow me to reorient toward her and refocus my energies. I suspect that once we break my habit, we won't be interested in turning it back on. As for professional dommes, they seem to have a clientele that is attached or married in a superior ratio to single guys. Where this is the case, they profit monetarily, but seem to do so at the expense of a couple's disfunction. I don't fault them for this, as it isn't really their responsibility, but its a bit creepy to me nonetheless.

There are articles on the internet page of Psychology Today discussing the phenomenon of porn-induced sexual dysfunction (including erectile dysfunction) in men. They are on a blog page titled "Cupid's Poisoned Arrow." One discussed something called the "Coolidge Effect‏," in which every exposure to a new potential mate causes the brain to get a large surge of dopamine, while repeated exposures to the same mate cause diminishing surges of dopamine. Both males and females have the effect, but it strongly applies to male performance. Exposure to internet porn, with a constant stream of new potential mates causes the male to go into dopamine overload and his performance to suffer.

The porn industry profits from internet porn at the expense of men who view it. The cost is more than financial. Because porn can never satisfy, men become obsessed. This obsession leads men to make bad choices. These choices hurt the woman, hurt the man, and hurt the chances of building a real FLR. The porn industry and men's reactions to it damage the confidence of women about FLR. The porn industry uses lots of tricks and techniques to try to hook men and to keep them hooked: better to stay away!

Internet porn distorts how a man views women and hinders a man´s ability to connect with an FLR woman. As long as there is money to be made porn continues to pervade our lives. Many sites purport to be "free" but they take a terrible price on men and their ability to connect with a strong female in a loving FLR relationship. Internet porn establishes in my mind an unattainable standard for women. My need to submit and to serve a woman and to anticipate her needs is inversely proportional to the amount of porn consumed.

I am sick of the porn industry owning the minds and souls of many men around the topic of FLR. FLR belongs to sincere women and gentle men. We need to take it back.

I'm glad to have come across this site today. I just punched in 'female-led relationship' into google and this came up first. I believe porn has horrible effects. I have to admit I've been addicted. I loathe and detest pornography. It's either totally fake or exploitative. I am trying to live a porn free life. I will pledge not to access pornography anymore and try to take it one day at a time. I think it harms your ability to be real and to actually have a serious relationship.
